Sustainability and innovation in a 100% recycled bottle

Vitalis, the Super Bock Group’s leading mineral water in Portugal, entrusted us with the packaging for the launch of the first water bottle made from 100% recycled and recyclable plastic. Under its commitment to sustainability, the Portuguese brand launched a new, more efficient and optimised packaging for the 1.5L bottles. Composed of the material of more than 3.33cl plastic bottles. In this way, Vitalis has given a new life to its already used containers, promoting a more sustainable planet.

For the redesign of the label of the new bottle, we wanted to communicate the idea of “transformation cycle” through circular shapes that refer to the recycling icon, and that work around the logo in the centre of the composition. For the printing of the labels we chose a kraft paper, whose sustainable material is in line with the sustainability proposal. In addition, they are FSC-certified, which guarantees that the products come from well-managed forests and offer environmental, social and economic benefits.

To complete the packaging of the mineral water, we worked on the design of the box containing the pack of bottles made of cardboard, following the same guidelines for the reduction of plastic in a type of product that normally requires this material for its sale. With this innovation, Vitalis estimates that it will avoid the use of more than 6.3 tonnes of new plastic per year.
